WORLDVIEW:

Doc’s experiences as a battlefield medic and surgeon have led him to two inescapable conclusions: 1. War is a horrible, horrible thing, and 2. Those kind of sacrifices cannot be for nothing.  In a sense, he’s come to believe that the end goal is justification for measures used to get there.  He’s not a violent man himself, but he can understand the violence of others.  This understanding puts him in a pivotal position as the leader of ACSO, since Doc must oversee a team with a wide spectrum of views on violence.    

 

Like Pax, he actively looks for nonviolent solutions, but in the end, he is willing to resort to whatever means he deems necessary to accomplish his objectives.
